Gary Thompson, P.Geo., P.Geol. – Chairman and CEO
Co-founder of Brixton Metals, Mr Thompson has over 25 years of project management and resource exploration experience in precious and base metals. In the late 80′s/early 90′s Gary co-founded and managed an exploration service company that employed up to 30 people. In 1988, Gary independently discovered the TAG gold-silver prospect in northern British Columbia, which was sold to Taku Gold Corp (TSX-V: TAK). Gary was employed by Newmont Alaska where he conducted regional exploration for intrusion related gold deposits in Alaska and Yukon. Gary also worked as a project geologist at Novagold’s Galore Creek Cu-Au project during 2004-05. In 2001, Gary founded Cayley Geothermal, and then executed a reverse take over of Sierra Geothermal in 2006. Gary was the CEO of Sierra Geothermal until it was acquired by Ram Power in 2010.
Cale Moodie, BSF CA – Director and CFO
Co-founder of Brixton Metals, Mr Moodie’s career in public markets spans over a decade. Cale previously worked for KPMG LLP’s Vancouver Industrial Markets Group, with an emphasis on audits for mining and resource-based companies. Cale is currently the CFO of Full Metal Minerals Corp. (TSX-V: FMM) and was previously CFO of Underworld Resources Inc. until its sale to Kinross Gold Corporation in June of 2010. Cale is a member in good standing with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of British Columbia and the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants.
George Salamis, Geologist – Director
Mr Salamis has held senior management positions with several well-established mining companies, most notably Placer Dome Inc. and Cameco Corporation, in addition to his successful formation and management of several junior mining companies listed in Europe and North America. George has over 20 years experience directing the exploration, development and mining operations of a number of gold, base metal and coal projects in many different regions of the world. In recent years, he also played an integral role, both executive and non-executive, in several large M&A transactions valued at over $US 1 billion and significant financing initiatives, raising over $US 800 million in equity financing for various resource companies. George holds a degree in Geology from the Universite de Montreal – Ecole Polytechnique and is the current CEO of Edgewater Exploration Ltd. (TSX-V: EDW).
Jim Defer, CA CBV – Director
Mr Defer created and led a transaction focused team of professionals at PI Financial servicing institutional grade small to mid-cap issuers based in British Columbia and Alberta. Jim led over 200 financing transactions raising over $1 billion and participated in an additional 200 transactions raising an additional $4 billion from 2003-2009. Jim graduated in 1987 from the University of Manitoba with an Honours Degree in Commerce. Jim is a CA & a CBV and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Canada and Canadian Institute of Chartered Business Valuators. He joined Compliance Energy as Chief Financial Officer effective March 2010. Jim has significant experience in investment banking, capital markets, corporate finance, as well as accounting, valuation and financial advisory services for the mining sector.
Don Poirier – Director
Mr. Poirier has over 30 years of mining experience, having worked in the industry since graduating from the University of Toronto with a geology degree in 1983. Don was a mining analyst at several different investment firms over the period from 1988 to 2007. That experience provided a platform to access a wide spectrum of assets and people and gain insight towards the capital markets and associated valuation practices. In July 2007 Don was appointed Vice President, Corporate Development of both Hecla Mining Company and its Canadian subsidiary, Hecla Canada Ltd.
Sorin Posescu, P. Geo. – Senior VP Geology
Mr Posescu was appointed to position of Senior VP Geology for Brixton Metals in November 2012 after having been a consulting Geologist for Brixton Metals since the founding of the Company in 2010. Sorin is also President of Romstar Geoscience Corp. and brings 17 years experience in resource exploration to the team. Former Senior project geologist with NovaGold, Sierra Geothermal and OMV-PETROM.
Carrie Sikman, BA (Hons) – VP Investor Relations
Ms Sikman was appointed to the position of VP Investor Relations for Brixton Metals in February 2013 after having fulfilled the Investor Relations role since early 2012. Carrie began working with Brixton in early 2011 and although new to the mining industry she quickly felt at home. Carrie brings several years of international sales and marketing experience to the table and has enjoyed transforming and honing these skills to the world of resource exploration. Carrie is a great communicator and loves sharing the Brixton story with investors and industry professionals alike. Since taking on the investor relations role Carrie has assisted in several non-brokered private placements, raising several million dollars.
